Project Journal: IndieWeb Webmentions: Create a Custom Block Pattern – From Scratch – Part 1

I looked at a few videos to understand how to create a custom block pattern to hold my RSVP webmention. You can do this “from scratch” or use a plugin. I would like to do this from scratch but am not sure if I can maintain it. The steps below summarize how to create a custom block pattern based on the videos that I viewed.

  • Create a New Post
  • Enter the content (blocks, text, etc.) for the pattern
  • View the Code in the Code Editor
  • Copy the Code
  • Navigate to a Code Escaping Tool
  • Escape the HTML to sanitize it, be careful of single and double quotes
  • Copy the Code
  • Create a Plugin
  • Paste the Escaped Code into the Plugin into the newly defined function.
  • Activate the Plugin
  • Create a New Post
  • Add a Block
  • Select from the Patterns

Oops, I missed yesterday. 🙂
