Wilmer Park, Chestertown, MD, 2023-05-06
Today’s skies were so beautiful! Today’s excursion took us to Chestertown. The skies were beautiful and Wilmer Park was nice as it always is. It is a simple park with a playground, pavilion, and walkway along the water. I think I like it because the water makes it a very calm location. Pictures of our…

Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, Laurel, MD, 2023-03-11
On this trip to the refuge, the sky was so beautiful that I didn’t even want to convert these photos to black and white. We saw a hooded merganser. We visited the big tree and just walked to get in a couple of miles. I never tire of this location which is just down the…

Back in 2009 we visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art and happened to be there on the opening day of Cai Guo-Qiang’s (@CaiGuoQiang) exhibit, Fallen Blossoms. It took me a while to find the name of the exhibit and the artist. Here is a short video of the outside event. T Michelle Moore

Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract, Laurel, MD, 2022-12-29
We took a very short walk at the Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract. The trails were closed for hunting. The majority of the trees were bare and perfect for photos. Lake Reddington was frozen which made a nice backdrop for the lonely limb sitting on the ice. Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract, https://www.fws.gov/refuge/patuxent-research,…

Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, Laurel, MD, 2022-12-27
I have to admit that the Turkey Vulture is sort of cute. We have seen them over the couple of years that we have been visiting the refuge and they always seem to be in pairs. And when they are soaring, their wings look pretty awesome. Location: Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, 230 Bald…

Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, 2022-12-20
During this visit we explored the “other” side of the refuge. It is about 5 miles southeast of the visitor’s center (map below). On the way to the Cattail Pond Parking lot, there is a stretch of power lines. All of the trails were closed so we had to walk along the street and this…
