Photography
I capture images of nature (landscapes, flora, fauna), travel (cityscapes, modern cities, older towns, architecture), and things mostly in Maryland, the Mid-Atlantic area, and occasionally beyond. Prints of my photography are available at Thelma Michelle Moore Photography.
Travel and Exploring
One day I would love for it to be said of me that I preserved a bit of history of a place, introduced someone to a new place to visit, or showed you something beautiful. Through nature, travel, and still life photography, I hope to accomplish my goal. My love of older towns and modern cities results in many short trips primarily around the Mid-Atlantic area in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. During the summer my travels take me a little further ever searching for Main Street, old trees, and beautiful flowers.
Photo Journal – Daily, well weekly, images captured by Michelle. Mostly raw and unedited. Posts are dated as of the day the photo was taken instead of the date posted to help organize the site.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often do I explore?
As soon as I have finished the hours and obligations of my real job and if the weather is right, I am out exploring with my husband. Sometimes after work but always on the weekend if the weather is right.
How much does this cost?
The usual cost is for the gas to get there. Most of these beautiful places are free to visit. Some state parks have a small fee.
Have I ever been in danger?
My husband is always paying attention. There was that big tree on the ground that I fell over, the tick bite, and tripping up in Sykesville that resulted in a gigantic swollen knot on my knee. And that time I tripped up over the log on a trail at Greenbridge. And that time I tripped up in the sand at Supplee Lane. 🙂 But thankfully not to much as I will not put myself into those types of situations.
Do I go to the same location?
During the pandemic, the exploration locations have decreased so yes, there are many repeat locations. This has allowed me to photograph some locations over time and see how they change through the seasons.
Where do I host my photos?
I use SmugMug to host and sell my photos. Visit SmugMug for more information. (Affiliate Link)
What equipment do I use?
Currently I use a Sony a7C and an iPhone 12 Pro. Previously I used a Sony a6000, Canon T3, and a Google Pixel 2XL. Long ago I had a Kodak 110 camera and also used my father’s Mamiya Sekor camera.
How do I store and backup your photos?
I use a combination of 3 hard drives (Western Digital, Seagate), SmugMug, and iDrive Personal 10 TB online storage.
Update: I now have a Synology DS923+ with a 16GB hard drive for photo storage.
