  • Delaware Seashore State Park, Rehoboth Beach, DE, 2022-12-30

As we were headed to Rehoboth Beach yesterday and saw ALL of the traffic headed there, we saw a beach further down the road and decided to visit. We got a pleasant surprise when we arrived at the the Delaware Seashore State Park. It is at the intersection of the Indian River Bay, Rehoboth Bay,…

  • Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract, Laurel, MD, 2022-12-29

We took a very short walk at the Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract. The trails were closed for hunting. The majority of the trees were bare and perfect for photos. Lake Reddington was frozen which made a nice backdrop for the lonely limb sitting on the ice. Patuxent Research Refuge – South Tract, https://www.fws.gov/refuge/patuxent-research,…

  • IndieWeb: WordPress RSVP Using Blocks

I have been working on ways to use the native WordPress blocks with classes to produce content that has the appropriate microformat classes. I was successfully in submitting an RSVP with one exception, the image does not seem to want to work properly. I am still becoming conversant in the language of microformats and still…

  • Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, Laurel, MD, 2022-12-27

I have to admit that the Turkey Vulture is sort of cute. We have seen them over the couple of years that we have been visiting the refuge and they always seem to be in pairs. And when they are soaring, their wings look pretty awesome. Location: Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, 230 Bald…

  • FreshRSS – A Feed Reader of My Own

I was exploring ways to add an RSS feedreader to my WordPress site and installed PressForward. I was looking for a replacement for my Inoreader subscription. PressForward is a great tool, but a little more than I needed. I could see the benefits for organizations with multiple people that curate, comment on, and publish articles.…

Previously, I was experimenting with a plugin to import my tweets. There appeared to be a limit of 199 tweets and I have 3,590 tweets, I tried the Twitter Archive to…

Since I have been introduced to the IndieWeb concept, one of my goals has been to find a way to import my tweets into WordPress. DsgnWrks Twitter Importer Plugin I found a plugin, DsgnWrks Twitter Importer,…

  • Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, 2022-12-20

During this visit we explored the “other” side of the refuge. It is about 5 miles southeast of the visitor’s center (map below). On the way to the Cattail Pond Parking lot, there is a stretch of power lines. All of the trails were closed so we had to walk along the street and this…

  • WordPress: Removing Custom Fields

I installed plugins a while back and subsequently deleted the plugins. Each time that I write a post and see the Custom Fields, it reminds me that I need to remove these extra custom fields. So today I opened up PHPMyAdmin and started to look for them in the SQL and couldn’t find them. I…
