Patuxent Research Refuge – North Tract, 12/23/2021

Today we saw a spotted salamander. The spots appear to be green in my photos. Unfortunately, it looked like someone ran over it recently.

I am making a lot of progress on climbing the tower. Yes, it is only two stories, but the swirling feeling that I get looking through the steps is real. But it is getting better.

I am still trying to get the hang of manually focusing and am wondering if it is the combination of the aperture and manual focus that is causing me a few issues with nailing focus every single time. I am going to keep practicing this skill.

In the meantime, here are my snapshots from this visit. It was another cold but beautiful day.
