I looked at a few videos to understand how to create a custom block pattern to hold my RSVP webmention. You can do this “from scratch” or use a plugin. I would like to do this from scratch but am not sure if I can maintain it. The steps below summarize how to create a custom block pattern based on the videos that I viewed.
- Create a New Post
- Enter the content (blocks, text, etc.) for the pattern
- View the Code in the Code Editor
- Copy the Code
- Navigate to a Code Escaping Tool
- Escape the HTML to sanitize it, be careful of single and double quotes
- Copy the Code
- Create a Plugin
- Paste the Escaped Code into the Plugin into the newly defined function.
- Activate the Plugin
- Create a New Post
- Add a Block
- Select from the Patterns
Oops, I missed yesterday. 🙂
