During this COVID-19 pandemic experience, I have found myself taking the time to do things I haven’t focused on like cooking dried beans, focusing on my diet, walking, and simplification. So yesterday I cooked some chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans. I decided to use the boil, sit, cook method. Warning, this is not a […]
We ended up with about a half inch of snow so I didn’t go to the gym first thing in the morning.
My New Year’s resolution is still in effect.
I am getting closer to a final logo design. I am looking for the perfect script font for the M.
Continuing from yesterday, I have refined the potential logo. Although I really liked the font for the M, my daughter said it was hard to read. I looked for another font and found a nice one. The current logo in the running is below. I really like it. The previous version is below.
Thank goodness. It was packed last night.
And actually went to the gym this evening. And so did everyone else! But this stuff does not contribute to my efforts, but it sure tastes pretty good.
I like the “coffee shop” atmosphere. But what does that really mean? Well I am not totally sure but believe it could be the smell of coffee combined with a college campus library atmosphere. Some coffee shops have an eclectic college town vegetarian restaurant feel. What’s that? Hip, eclectic, comfortable, studious, collaborative, happy, enlightened? That […]
2015 was a good year but it had one problem. It went by so quickly! This year I don’t have any great resolutions other than the normal ones I have had for the last few years: negative weight gain and eating healthier. Oh and let’s not forget blogging more and more photography. 🙂
I have been enjoying a nice two weeks off. During this time I have taken two classes, tried multiple tea and coffee shops, and eaten out a lot. My resolutions are to: Learn more Take more pictures Share more Eat healthier Have negative weight gain 🙂 Enjoy life more And to actually read the WordPress […]
There are so many things that I love and am interested in. Each year I decide that I am going to focus on this or that and each year I fail. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to succeed at focusing on one thing. I believe that the multi-faceted set […]
For those that don’t know, my hair has been natural since 1993. I have had a few trims but this is the first real haircut where there was noticeable length cut off. I am not going through a mid-life crisis 🙂 but I thought it was time to make a change. Below you will see […]
Well, I hit the big 50 yesterday. I don’t feel like it at all. In celebration of this milestone in my life, I am making a few resolutions. I am going to exercise regularly so that I can lose 50 pounds. OK that isn’t realistic so I will at least aim for 30 pounds and […]
Well, today my husband and I made it to the culmination of Phase 1 of parenting. Phase 1 includes: -Birth-K-12-College Graduation-Getting a Job-Moving Out into her own apartment (with a roommate) While we are overjoyed about being empty nesters, we are also so proud of our daughter for her accomplishments. She has graduated, got a […]
During our trip to San Francisco in September I took way to many pictures, about 1,623 to be exact. Before the trip I purchased a Canon Rebel EOS T3 DSLR camera. I read the manual for the camera, tried to cram on how to compose a picture, use the aperture, change the shutter speed and much more. […]
This morning I decided to move my WordPress blog to Blogger. I have thought about this on and off and thought, maybe the WordPress blog can be the more personal blog and the Blogger blog can be the more “serious” blog.It turns out that with my work, volunteer, and play schedule none of them could […]
It is almost time for our 2013 resolutions and it is time again for me to confess how I have failed again at my quest to eat a 100% vegan diet. I of all people should know better. My husband is a personal trainer and a true vegan and I have read enough articles and […]
On Saturday, I had the second day of what has been a great Christmas gift from my husband. A trip to the Aveda Bethesda Salon and Spa. During the week after Christmas it started with a visit to Michel Cohen. Michel fixed up my eyebrows. I asked her for the perfect eyebrow that I had […]
So this year we have gone through a change. My husband and I moved from our house of 13 years into an apartment. The move was designed to reduce my commute to work. In our previous home I had a 12 mile drive to the subway station. In normal circumstances this should take about 12-15 […]
